Cefpodoxime & Ofloxacin Tablets:  Cefpodoxime + ofloxacin is a category of medicines known as broad-spectrum antibiotics, which are used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs (pneumonia), sinus (sinusitis), bladder (cystitis), ear infection, etc. Bacterial infections result from the growth of harmful bacteria within or on the body. Cefpodoxime + ofloxacin is not effective against virus-caused infections, such as cold and flu. Taking antibiotics when they are not necessary can cause them to fail (become antibiotic resistant) for subsequent infections.

Cefpodoxime + ofloxacin is a drug combination of two antibiotics: Ofloxacin and Cefpodoxime. Ofloxacin is a DNA gyrase inhibitor needed for replication of DNA, transcription of DNA, and repair of DNA. Cefpodoxime is a drug that prevents the development of the bacterial cell covering (cell wall) needed for bacterial survival. Thus, it kills bacteria (bactericidal) and prevents the spread of bacterial diseases and cures them. Cefpodoxime+ofloxacin combined treats bacterial infections.

Precautions:

• Take it with food to prevent stomach upset.
• Diarrhea is a possible side effect, but it should end when your treatment is over. Tell your doctor if it does not cease or if you notice blood in your stool.
• Stop Cefpodoxime Proxetil + Ofloxacin and tell your doctor at once if you develop a rash, itchy skin, swelling of the face and mouth, or have trouble breathing.
• Inform your physician in case you experience tenderness, numbness, or tingling in your tendons.
