Mometasone + Azelastine Nasal Spray

Mometasone 50 mcg + Azelastine 140 mcg Nasal Spray is used to help with symptoms of allergic rhinitis, like a runny or stuffy nose. It helps stop sneezing, itching, a runny or stuffy nose, and other allergy symptoms in your nose. Allergic rhinitis is when the nose gets swollen and irritated because of allergies. This can happen because of things like pollen, dust, mold, or tiny pieces of skin from some animals.

Mometasone 50 mcg + Azelastine 140 mcg Nasal Spray has two ingredients: Azelastine and Mometasone. Histamines are chemicals that the body releases when it has an allergic reaction. Mometasone is a type of medicine that helps reduce swelling by stopping the body from making certain chemicals that lead to inflammation. This helps reduce sneezing and a runny or stuffy nose.

How to Use

• Take off the dust cover.
• If you are using the pump for the first time, haven’t used it in a week or more, or just cleaned the nozzle, you need to prepare it by following steps 4 and 5 below. If you used the pump in the last week, go to step 6.
• Hold the spray bottle with your index and middle fingers, and rest the bottom of the bottle on your thumb. 
• If you are using the spray for the first time, press the pump down and let go ten times or until you see a mist. If you’ve used the pump before but not in the last week or just cleaned the nozzle, press down and let go of the spray button twice until you see a fine mist.
• Lean your head forward a little and gently put the tip of the nasal applicator into your other nostril. Make sure to hold the bottle straight up.
• Start by breathing in through your nose.
• As you breathe in, press down hard on the spray with your index and middle fingers to release a puff.
• Take a soft breath in through your nose and let it out through your mouth.
• If your doctor said to use two sprays in that nostril, do steps 6 to 12 again.
• Do steps 6 to 13 on the other side of your nose.
• Clean the applicator with a tissue and put the dust cover back on.

Safety Tips

• Let your doctor and pharmacist know about any other medicines, vitamins, supplements, or herbal products you are using or plan to use while usig mometasone nasal spray. Your doctor might have to adjust how much medicine you take or keep a close eye on you for any side effects.
• Also let your doctor know if you have had chicken pox, measles, or tuberculosis (TB; a lung infection), or if you’ve been near someone who has any of these illnesses.
• If you get pregnant while using mometasone nasal spray, contact your doctor.
