Mometasone Nasal Spray is usually called mometasone furoate. This is a type of steroid, also known as a corticosteroid. This medicine has been used for many different illnesses. It also helps reduce swelling and has properties that fight inflammation. That’s why it has been used to help with problems like allergies, asthma, and skin issues. The most common use of mometasone is to stop asthma attacks by reducing swelling in the nose. Finally, the most common side effects are headaches, sore throats, glaucoma, cataracts, and more.
How to Use ?
- Take off the dust cover.
- If you’re using the pump for the first time, haven’t used it in a week or more, or just cleaned the nozzle, you need to get it ready by doing steps 4 and 5 below. If you used the pump in the last week, go to step 6.
- If you’re using the spray for the first time, press the pump down and let go ten times, or until you see a nice mist. If you used the pump before but not in the last week or just cleaned the nozzle, press down and let go of the spray twice until you see a nice mist.
- Softly blow your nose to clear your nostrils.
- Pinch one side of your nose with your finger.
- Lean your head a little forward and gently put the tip of the nasal applicator into your other nose hole. Make sure to hold the bottle up straight.
- Start by breathing in through your nose.
- As you breathe in, press down hard on the spray with your index and middle finger to release a spray.
- Breathe in slowly through your nose and breathe out through your mouth.
- If your doctor advised you to use two sprays in that nostril, do steps 6 to 12 again.
- Do the same steps 6 to 13 in the other side of your nose.
- Clean the applicator with a tissue and put the dust cover back on. Ask your pharmacist or doctor for a copy of the information from the manufacturer for the patient.

Tell your doctor if you have had chicken pox, measles, or tuberculosis (a lung infection). Also, let them know if you have been near someone with any of these illnesses.
