Ceftriaxone 1000 mg + Sulbactam 500 mg Injection
GATEXONE™ – SB
Ceftriaxone 1000 mg + Sulbactam 500 mg Injection
Ceftriaxone + Sulbactam are antibiotics for infections caused by the multiplication of pathogenic bacteria in or on body tissues. This multiplication process allows the production of toxins in them, leading to tissue damage, which might leave you unwell. Different bacteria cause bacterial infection in the varying organs and also have distinct sets of symptoms in each affected organ.
Ceftriaxone+sulbactam is the combination of two medicines- Ceftriaxone + Sulbactam. Ceftriaxone is a type of cephalosporin antibiotic. It is bactericidal, meaning it kills bacteria. It works by inhibiting the formation of the cell wall (the outer protective layer of bacteria, which is necessary for its survival) by preventing protein synthesis. Sulbactam stops the action of beta-lactamase. Beta-lactamase is a substance formulated by bacteria that can damage antibiotics (ceftriaxone).
Ceftriaxone + Sulbactam Injection is composed of two antibiotics-Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam, which combine to bring about the destruction of the pathogen. It acts by inhibiting the action of the bacteria. Sulbactam decreases resistance and potentiates the effects of Ceftriaxone against bacteria. The solution can be administered to patients to treat many different kinds of bacterial infections, such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. This medication will typically improve your condition within a few days; however, you must keep taking it even when you are feeling better so that all the bacteria are eradicated and cannot become resistant.
Ceftriaxone + Sulbactam injection has been used in the treatment of many bacterial infections following susceptible organisms, such as bacterial meningitis, community-acquired pneumonia, hospital-acquired pneumonia, acute otitis media known as ear infection, intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, infections of bones and joints, complicated skin and soft tissue infections, gonorrhea, syphilis, bacterial endocarditis, and surgical prophylaxis.
Ceftriaxone+sulbactam contains Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam. Ceftriaxone prevents the infection by hindering the bacterial growth. It interferes with the synthesis of the cell wall, which is critical for bacteria’s survival. Sulbactam inhibits beta-lactamase, which is an enzyme produced by bacteria to degrade antibiotics. Sulbactam acts as a catalyst for ceftriaxone.
Ceftriaxone+sulbactam should be neglected in conditions like gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, kidney diseases, seizure disorders, bleeding disorders, antibiotic resistance, and bleeding disorders.
Yes, Ceftriaxone+Sulbactam is capable of causing an allergic reaction and as such is contraindicated in a patient who has a known allergy to a class of antibiotics called cephalosporins. If you experience any of these symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek medical attention immediately: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
